With a keen understanding of business dynamics, Charee Champ has fifteen years of experience as a Financial Analyst across multiple sectors of the financial services industry. Champ has analyzed companies and developed and implemented changes to financial analysis policies and procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
Champ specializes in analyzing companies from a wide variety of industries. She has experience with traditional insurance companies (life, health, and property and casualty), credit unions, student loan guaranty agencies, and special purpose insurance companies that insure risks in various industries.
Champ served as a Financial Analyst at the DC Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking in the Risk Finance Bureau. In this capacity she analyzed financial statements, business plans, and projections for captive insurance companies. Champ reviewed financial analysis of captive insurance companies performed by other analysts to ensure they were in compliance with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) standards. She led the process of streamlining the analysis procedures for captive insurance companies to recognize efficiencies. Champ also participated in the successful NAIC accreditation review of the agency.
Prior to this, she was a Financial Analyst at the Kansas Insurance Department. She performed financial statement analysis of traditional property and casualty, life, and health insurance companies.
Champ is currently a financial analyst for the U.S. Department of Education's Federal Student Aid. She performs financial analysis of guaranty agencies that insure student loans. She is responsible for developing policies and procedures, developing risk reports and dashboards, and training financial analysts.
Prior to this, Champ served as the Grant Administrator for the Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives of the National Credit Union Administration. In this role, she managed every aspect of the grant and loan process including the automation and revamping of the grant and loan application process. She was responsible for developing standards for funding awards based on project plans and financial statement analysis of low income designated credit unions. She developed and implemented a new marketing plan for the grant and loan program that increased grant and loan application volume by more than 100%.
She is a highly sought-after business professional for the private and public sector, both for her financial analysis and business solutions.
Charee Champ holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Kansas and a M.B.A. from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business.
